In Finland, the vast majority of new jobs are created in SMEs. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and cover the majority of Finland's business sector. Qred is a small business bank that, since 2015, has helped tens of thousands of small entrepreneurs grow their businesses with flexible financing.
Entrepreneurship and small business deserve a place in the spotlight and more research.
That's why we established the Qred Scholarship for research on entrepreneurship and/or enterprise.
Who can get a scholarship?
The aim of Qred's scholarship is to promote entrepreneurial knowledge and innovation in small businesses.
The Qred Scholarship is awarded for a thesis that deals with entrepreneurship, or that aims to advance the status of small businesses.
The scholarship is awarded to a person who has a research question that stands out from the crowd, and whose thesis investigates a previously unexplored issue or approaches an issue that has already been studied from a different perspective.

2023: Scholarship awarded Adalmine for the Crash from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Adalmina's thesis deals with the use of influencer marketing in the construction industry.
Search and criteria
To apply for a Qred scholarship, you must be writing a thesis on entrepreneurship or business at a Finnish higher education institution.
In your application, please state:
- Why your research topic is important for entrepreneurship and business.
- Your name, contact information and degree program at a Finnish university/university. Please also include a valid study certificate certifying your studies at a Finnish higher education institution.

General terms and conditions
General terms and conditions
- The scholarship recipient is appointed by a jury, all of whose members work for Qred. The jury's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
- The scholarship is worth 1,000 euros and the full amount is paid at once.
- To ensure the legitimacy of the applicants, scholarship recipients also undergo an identity check. When applying for a scholarship, you agree to have Qred complete this audit.
- Any tax is paid by the scholarship recipient.
- APPLICATION TIME: To qualify as an applicant and be eligible to win the Qred Scholarship, you must apply for the scholarship within the specified application period. The application period is 19.10. - 17.12.2023.
- APPLICATION: To qualify as an applicant and be eligible to win the Qred Scholarship, the application must be complete and contain all the required information (see below). “Search and criteria”).
- APPLICANT: Qred processes personal data in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and other applicable data protection legislation.
